Mission

Advance understanding of impostor syndrome, identity, and purpose through research, education, and consulting.

Vision

A world where overcoming impostor syndrome, building identity, and living with purpose are woven into everyday systems: homes, schools, teams, and workplaces.

Commitment

Evidence‑based, community‑led, and equity‑minded. We publish in plain language and share tools freely whenever possible.

Our Story

Founded by Simone S. Atkinson, a military spouse, entrepreneur, and author, the Institute grew from lived experience and a simple question: How do we turn the science of impostor syndrome, identity, self‑worth, and resilience into habits families and teams can actually use?

We began with military spouses—navigating mobility, career breaks, and isolation—then expanded to women leaders, entrepreneurs, and AI innovators facing similar identity challenges. Today we run studies, publish guides, and deliver workshops that translate research on impostor syndrome, identity, and purpose into daily practice.

Our Values

Dignity

Every program protects the personhood and self‑worth of participants—no exceptions.

Clarity

Plain language, practical tools, and transparent methods. We aim to help people overcome feelings of undeservingness, increase their self‑worth, and step into their purpose with confidence. Our clarity dismantles impostor syndrome by showing participants they are worthy and capable.

Courage

We test, learn, and adapt with our community—always.

A Note from the Founder

I started the Atkinson Institute because I know the quiet battles of impostor syndrome and the weight of feeling undeserving. My mission is to help people reclaim their self‑worth and step fully into their purpose—whether in their homes, careers, or communities. This work is deeply personal to me, and it’s why every program we build begins with dignity and ends with empowerment.
